It is a staring contest. The cat looks at me and I look at the cat.
The sandwich smells so good. Oh, why does the cat have to look at me like that? I feel guilty. How could I eat all of this myself and not share? My coworkers would probably be laughing at me if they saw me. Don't spoil the cat! The cat does not belong in here! True, but cats have to eat too. What do I do? Yes, no, maybe?
Well, they can say whatever. They are on break and I am here with my guest.
The cat continues to stare and wait with large yellow eyes. After a few moments the cat starts meowing. It is not the annoying, persistent kind of meow that some cats can make when they want attention. This cat's meow is inquisitive and it is almost like the cat is speaking. There are no demands in its cry just a humble request for an empty tummy.
The cat does not look that old. It is white with splotches on it making it some kind of tabby cat. This feline certainly is trusting and I am not sure how to tell this cat no.
