He is racing a little too fast through the halls...
With the traffic of kids moving through the corridors towards the next part of the day, you'd think there would be no room for running. That was until I saw some kids zigzagging through the herd. Some people got loud and annoyed while others simply laughed. I know it does not make sense, but a little excitement during an otherwise boring day can be a nice relief.
A few people gave high fives and cheered, but the majority just wanted to get out of the way. That was especially true when a few of the teachers noticed the commotion and raised their voices. The kids scattered with a few making comments about how the classes were too far apart and they had to run to avoid a tardy.
Passing through the hallways earlier, the place was busy. There were a lot more kids here than at my previous school. There was the usual chatter about competitions, homework, sports, clubs, teen stuff, and the latest news. Personally, I draw and I like to paint. Also, I like to decorate and build things. I am not great at it yet, but I enjoy it and that is all that counts. Considering I have not heard anyone mention an art or movie club, there is probably not a place for people like me to gather. Oh, well. I guess I have to deal with disappointment.
Gearing up mentally for my next class, I flipped through a few more screens and looked to see if any of my friends from back home had responded to my last post in our favorite app. I got a few emojis and some shameless memes, but not a lot of commentary. They were probably feeling just as awkward about the fact that I was yanked out of their normal too.
